Composition–Structure–Solubility Relationships in Borosilicate Glasses: Toward a Rational Design of Bioactive Glasses with Controlled Dissolution Behavior

This study connects borosilicate glass structure with dissolution and ion release in simulated physiological conditions. Changing the sodium, boron, and silicon ratios alters degradation rates, while individual elements are released according to their structural roles. The results support a more systematic approach to designing bioactive glasses with controlled dissolution.
